Soul queen and nineties icon announces Newcastle date with tickets on sale this week

Soul sensation Gabrielle has announced a new UK tour which will bring her to Newcastle next spring. The Dreams and Rise singer, who is also set to perform at the new Opulence festival in County Durham this autumn, will be stopping off at the 02 City Hall the following April. Tickets for her 2027 tour are going on sale a year in advance, with artist pre-sale available from this Wednesday, April 15 followed by general sale on Friday, April 17. The Brit Award-winner, who will be performing alongside former Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow on the first day of Lumley Castle's September 4-5 Opulence event, has lots of fans in the North East, where she has also performed at Durham Cathedral. They will now have another chance to catch up with her on her newly-announced April 3 date in 2027 during what is described as 'the next exciting chapter' for the singer whose soul and pop career spans more than three decades. The UK singer-songwriter, who turns 57 this summer, is a multiple award-winner, with two MOBOs and an Ivor Novello adding to her two BRIT Award successes. Her career took off with the release of landmark album Rise back in 1999, to platinum success, followed by Dreams Can Come True: Greatest Hits. Top 10 albums since include 2018’s Under My Skin and 2024's A Place In Your Heart. The star, whose high profile appearances also include a stint on The Masked Singer UK in 2021 and a role in Stormzy’s 2022 Mel Made Me Do It, has toured alongside such big names as Lionel Richie and Tom Jones. This year she also will be appearing with Rick Astley and Michael Buble as well as performing at festivals.
